January 2012 Winner

Not everyday at OakGlenn Winery is sunny and nice. Allen D from Mattoon Illinois was visiting the winery when the river valley was a bit moody. The day of Allen's visit the there was a light mist with rolling fog covering the valley throughout the day. Allen was captivated by this and caught the fog as it was coming over the hill behind our stage. Great job Allen and congrats on being our first winner of the Best Shot Contest!

Your Best Shot at OakGlenn Photo Contest

Throughout the years we have seen literally thousands of people with a camera in hand here at the winery. Some are taking pictures of the breathtaking view we have of the Missouri River, while others are taking pics of their friends just having a good time. Of course there's the live events all Summer long not to mention all the bachelor/bachelorette parties, wedding parties, birthday parties and on and on. So we decided we want to see some of these photos that you have taken. The result is we decided to have a photo contest where once a month we will pick the best photo submitted, publish it on our website and give you a $25.00 gift certificate.

The rules are simple enough. We want your best high res photo taken here at the winery. Subject matter is up to you but you have to make sure there's something in the photo that we can identify so we know it was taken here. A good example would be the rock and flower garden located just to the right of the food pavilion near the vineyard. Another good area is the stage or under the pavilion at the Husmann building. Then of course there's the view of the Missouri River that's unique to the winery. We are also going to limit you to one entry per month and all submissions will be by email. In your email we will need your photo, name and a phone number that we can contact you at along with a brief story about your photo. Since we are just starting this the cutoff for submissions for the January 2012 contest will be December 25, 2011. Don't worry about missing the deadline for January. If you miss it'll just mean you are entered in the next month's contest.
